1. How much will it cost to use the toll roads?

It could be as high as .75 cents per mile. But even that could go up. In the Dallas area, citizens pay about $6.50 each way on a 13-mile strip of highway known as the North Tarrant Expressway (.50 cents per mile). But the toll rate could increase for any toll road that starts to overcrowd with high usage. With the volume of cars already on 1604 and 281, and the north side of San Antonio growing faster than any other part of South Texas, the possibility of more cars using these highways is very real.

Toll rates across Texas have been between .25 cents to .75 cents. For citizens in San Antonio, depending on how much they commute, paying to use a toll road could be as high as adding $5.00 per 10 mile or $10 for a return trip. It would be about $300.00 per month or $3600.00 per drive per year. Are you ready for this new tax?
